The St. Louis Rams continue their search for a new general manager. Minnesota Vikings director of player personnel George Paton interviewed with the team last Monday. Paton will have a second interview very soon for the job, possibly as soon as today, according to the Pioneer Press.
Les Snead of the Falcons is the other candidate known to have had a second interview with the Rams.
Paton has been with the Vikings for five years. Prior to that, he worked for the Dolphins from 2001-2006.
Others who have interviewed for the GM job include: Joey Clinkscales, VP of college scouting for the Jets; Brian Gaine, Miami's director of player personnel; Ron Hill, who ran the Falcons drafts from 2001-2003; and Steve Keim, the Cardinals director of player personnel.
Tom Telesco removed his name from consideration after he received a promotion from the Colts.
Two other candidates, Mike Ackerley and Rich Snead, have been reported as candidates before, but are not. TST first reported last Sunday that Rich Snead was not a GM candidate, and the PD had the scoop on Ackerley later that week.
Titans exec Lake Dawson was promoted to VP of player personnel, but some say he could still be in the mix for the Rams job.

Lake Dawson remains my #1 choice

I like Dawson and Keim
anything else would be uncivilized
DCRamFan - February 6, 2012
Who ever they are
we better get randy moss out of retirement.

diehardram87 - February 6, 2012
ex-lax can help with that
DCRamFan - February 6, 2012
Ugh...
I’m hoping for either 1) Dawson or 2) Keim
Rcoon1307 - February 6, 2012 via mobile
Hey you're right.
He looks nothing like George C Scott
dbcouver - February 6, 2012
Could it be that it is taking so long because of the potential complications with Dawson?
It seems that maybe Fisher really wants him but the Titans brass is resistant somehow.
mcihaelT - February 6, 2012
Who met the Rooney Rule for us?
sergey606 - February 6, 2012
good question
I don’t think we got to actually interview Dawson. All these other homies don’t qualify because of their whiteness. Dawson just needs to go ahead and do the inevitable though, and pull a Brandon Lloyd on the Titans ass, following his boy Fish to the Lou!
DCRamFan - February 6, 2012
so we still have to satisfy it, I'm guessing an interview with Dawson is inevitable
sergey606 - February 6, 2012
more importantly
him getting the job will satisfy me! The DCRamFan Rule prevails
DCRamFan - February 6, 2012
Joey Clinkscales did
J.E.T.music - February 6, 2012 via mobile
Dawson lol
Rcoon1307 - February 6, 2012 via mobile

The Rule was established to ensure that minority coaches, especially African American were considered for high-level coaching positions. Until 1979, Fritz Pollard was the only minority head coach in NFL history (which was during the league’s early years in the 1920s) and by the time the Rule was implemented, only Tom Flores, Art Shell, Dennis Green, Ray Rhodes, Tony Dungy, and Herman Edwards had ever held head coaching jobs (Only Dungy and Edwards were actively head coaching at the time of the Rule’s implementation, though Shell and Green would later return to the sidelines as head coaches). Dungy in particular had struggled for years before getting a head coaching job; he was often promoted as a head coaching candidate by Chuck Noll when Dungy was an assistant under Noll in 1980s with the Steelers, but he would not become a head coach until 1996 when he took over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Seattle has shown interest in hosting a Super Bowl
which could be Super Bowl 50, in 4 years. Thats gives us a good amount of time to get really good……..three years if we want to win in Arizona, too

kevio3000 - February 6, 2012 via Android app
yea and i think it will hurt attendance at the ed the next 3 years
when your team is destined to move the enthusiasm is hard to muster up that and
a lousy team
an owner who doesn’t want to even play all his 8 games at home
just hope the team rebuilds somewhat so when they do move to the coast they will generate some explosive interest
i said all along st. loui is a baseball town ….always has been ..always will be
with the exception of TGSON years hasn’t really been that successfull
richard brooks anyone?
jswirb - February 6, 2012
just please NO GAMES in anaheim...that was an embarrasement

Brick Top - February 7, 2012
LA lost two teams already.
Piss poor fans. The Rams aren’t going anywhere. You guys haven’t even come to a decision on a stadium decision yet. You might get an expansion team but that’s it. And you will lose that team too
Rcoon1307 - February 6, 2012 via mobile
But hey....
Keep dreaming in one hand and shitting in the other…..let me know which one fills up first haha
Rcoon1307 - February 6, 2012 via mobile
And what is it with you guys?
Why can’t LA fans spell? I mean how do you misspell “the”? Seriously? Lol
Rcoon1307 - February 6, 2012 via mobile
if you guys would sell out your home games in st loui you wouldn't have to worry about any of this
let alone have 1 game overseas…unreal
jswirb - February 6, 2012
You cannot expect a city to sell out when the team is 2-14
And had a 10 wins total in the 3 years before that. LA would have been just as empty.
RamFan284 - February 6, 2012
And while it is stressful time...
Kroenke wants to keep his team here. It’s called leverage. And he isn’t going anywhere. He didn’t buy the team just to sell half of it three years down the road. The dude is from here.
Rcoon1307 - February 6, 2012 via mobile
And I apologize to LA fans who aren't D bags...
It just seems that this site has alot of LA fans who talk so much shit. How do you talk shit when you don’t even have an NFL team?
Rcoon1307 - February 6, 2012 via mobile
god damn, jswirb needs to fuck off

say what you want.....the owner will not keep the tream here in the future
and i’m not an ass for thinking so
many others feel the same way
kroaneke has already put the pieces in play
st loui’s only chance is a big state of the art stadium..
and we know it will only be half full with even 7 home games
by then maybe even less home games
jswirb - February 6, 2012
No your an ass for saying it will happen for sure
with just speculation to back it up.
Brick Top - February 7, 2012
I concur....
Rcoon1307 - February 7, 2012 via mobile
And an ass for the way you treat people on this site
Brick Top - February 7, 2012
Double concur....
And let me add that you don’t bring anything good to the site. Your like a cancerous mole. You just say things to antagonize. And you can’t spell even with spell check….which throws all credibility out the window
Rcoon1307 - February 7, 2012 via mobile
this is a perfect opportunity to rec
‘eye told ewe sew,’ if you haven’t already :)
DCRamFan - February 7, 2012

jswirb - February 7, 2012
