Will not be defeated picked Riley Reiff for the Dolphins yesterday, creating one of the better young tandems of tackles in the NFL. Today, the Bills, led by iplaythedrums, are up. They pick:

Courtney Upshaw, OLB/DE, Alabama

Pick Grade:

B+

"The Bills were 30th in the league in sacks last year. They desperately need a dynamic pass rusher to improve a woeful defensive unit. Insert Upshaw. The Bills now possess arguably the best past rusher in the draft, who will team up with Shawn Merriman next year to form a formidable pass rushing pair."

Analysis after the jump.

Star-divide

Since the Bills are sticking with a 4-3, Upshaw will have to go through a slight transition to move to a defensive end. However, given his pass rushing skill set, it seems like he'd be able to make the change.

Given his strength and ability to attack the ball, the Bills are making a good decision here to add some fire to their defensive line. The Bills completely imploded down the stretch last year. Beyond adding help for Ryan Fitzpatrick, adding sound defensive players who can attack the quarterback is a must.

Coples

would be a better pick, in my opinion.

Pass rushers in this draft are very unimpressive

he should honestly be like a guy picked around 20ish, but this draft lacks talent

I gave it an A

He had to decide between Coples, Mercilus, and Kirkpatrick I think. At least that’s who I would have in my final 4. He chose wisely among 4 very qualified players. I have OLB as their highest need, above DE so I approve Upshaw. The combine may change this.

I agree,

Very good response, we might even see ingram increase his stock, my only issue is I think coples is bpa at this spot.

Why, oh why

Must the Bills always shatter the hopes and dreams of players that I like? Good pick, though I’m not happy about it.

This shouldn't be an A pick

voters grade too easy

i know i do
Couples should be the pick.
