The St. Louis Rams could solve part of their problems at wide receiver by re-signing Brandon Lloyd. Sure enough, the Rams confirmed on Wednesday, as reported by Ron Clements, that they are indeed interested in bringing Lloyd back for the 2012 season.
According to Clements' report, Rams COO Kevin Demoff described Lloyd's 11-game stint with the team as a sort of tryout. It sounds like an odd way of thinking about it, but the move was in line with a number of other moves the team made last year to bring in players on short-term deals. Imagine if the Rams had signed Lloyd long-term and things had failed to work out.
Demoff described Lloyd as "well-liked." His presence certainly added a competitive edge that the offense lacked beyond Steven Jackson.
Lloyd will most likely have options elsewhere in free agency. Late in the season, as the Spagnuolo administration crumbled, Lloyd publicly stated his desire to keep working with Josh McDaniels. The Patriots, McDaniels' new team, could certainly use a receiver, but Lloyd's new agent, Tom Condon of CAA, may complicate a reunion.

I'd say...
Bag ‘im and Tag ’im!!! Well, let’s just Franchise Tag him and keep that weapon for Bradford… Seeing as we might not pick up Blackmon, let’s at least keep Lloyd. :)

plus he'd be way too expensive
sergey606 - February 15, 2012
Yeah you can
but it would cost like 5 Million. Me and you need to have a review of free agency and the rules.

I'm a WR/QB/RB when I play pickups games, I go to Illinois and I'm named Brandon
how am I different than Lloyd.

Lloyd makes millions as a professional NFL wide receiver who rides the coattails of "Paycheck" McD for production.
RAMpage28 - February 16, 2012
Small unimportant details
Lloyd and I are one in the same
Brick Top - February 16, 2012
Not used much in his first six years in the league
His last year contract was only 1,050,000
Offer him 3 years 9 million. He is a pro bowl rec. needs to make some jack at the end of his career.
fearsomefoursum - February 15, 2012
Not worth it!
He gets no yards after the catch he is a # 2. 3yrs 9mill no way gonna take atleast 6mill a yr for 4 0r 5 yrs. Hey was ok for the Rams but they need someone to line up outside the numbers in strech the field. He is a good route runner but speed kills.
SHAWN .B - February 15, 2012
That's why you draft a WR!
