I promised the shortest intro ever. Open thread after the jump.

There's going to be tons of points scored, so even if you know nothing about the prospects or teams you should be entertained. And yes, Dabo and Dana are two of the most entertaining coaches as well.
So if you're going to watch tonight, drop some notes here. Does West Virginia junior wideout Tavon Austin (#1) look athletic enough to be the kind of playmaker Rams fans are clamoring for? How about speedy Clemson junior RB Andre Ellington (#23)?
Holler.

Is Austin expected to opt out of his senior year?
DCRamFan - January 4, 2012
because
his ability to crush 1/2 an orange with one hand is amazing!
DCRamFan - January 4, 2012
Iowa v. Oklahoma?
Did we relocate the Mountaineers to Des Moines?

my TV must be F'd
because OK is bright orange

Stoops is trying something new.
Hopefully it helps Landry with his passing.

heheh
I copied the title over from the Insight Bowl.
3k - January 4, 2012
That was a nice kickoff right there!
DCRamFan - January 4, 2012
3k, oklahoma played in the insight bowel
Freewheeler2 - January 4, 2012
Yes!
The Insight Bowel!
3k - January 4, 2012
Insight Bowel, eh?
That sounds disgusting. Like a colonoscopy or something.
FailureDrill - January 4, 2012 via Android app
it was a sloppy win
Freewheeler2 - January 4, 2012
No one on Clemson can catch
….so we’ll draft all of their receivers
DCRamFan - January 4, 2012
They have the freshman of the year and the John Mackey Award
at receiver and tight end lol…
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
just calling em like I see em, buddy
3 dropped passes in the first two possessions. One by the aforementioned Mackey winner
DCRamFan - January 4, 2012
that's some pretty extreme calling em like you see em
one drop=can’t catch?
3k - January 4, 2012
my apologies
DCRamFan - January 4, 2012
none needed
but you were right, dropsies early. Looks like they got it ironed out
3k - January 4, 2012
Well that was easy
3k - January 4, 2012
Great athleticism from Austin
on that TD. And he had control into the pylon. Good stuff
3k - January 4, 2012
what round would you project him in the draft?
DCRamFan - January 4, 2012
early day 3
to a team like the Rams who needs that kind of agility in their WR corps
3k - January 4, 2012
Bailey and Austin are awesome.
What do you think about Bailey? He’s got the size.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
I guess
He’s not even 6’…but he can play. WVU’s system is so different than most NFL teams. Constant vertical aggression
3k - January 4, 2012
CRAP I meant Ivan McCartney.
He’s the one with the 6-3 frame, and he’s supposed to have a lot of potential.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
he does, but I think he's being horrendously misused in their system
More of a possession type mid-ranger (think Dwight Jones) who’s being used as the underneath decoy for Austin/Bailey. But yeah, maybe next year they open him up more
3k - January 4, 2012
nice hands on that
3rd down conversion
3k - January 4, 2012
Yup yup
they’ve got some beast receivers there.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
Come onnnnnnnn WVU!
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
What is this defensive thing Clemson is doing?
Seems very weird not to just let WVU score.
3k - January 4, 2012
Clemson's D-line prospects
is playing themselves deeper into day 2.
3k - January 4, 2012
Oh yeah I meant to ask.
You think we could get Sanu with the 34th or do you think he’s the second receiver gone?
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
big offseason guy
Needs to test & interview well. Show that he can work in a system more than just stand out on a crappy team. He’s got phenomenal body control and plus hands, but his footwork underneath is a little sloppy. If he can’t get better at the routes <10 yards, wouldn’t make sense to draft him until mid 3rd or later
3k - January 4, 2012
Oh really?
Well that’s good then haha. What’s your receiver board look like? I’d really rather try to trade down and take Martin (we’d probably be out of Blackmon around 7) and take a steal at receiver.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
Nothing that unusual in top 8 or so
But overall boards are a bit deceiving. Some receivers are apples and oranges. How do you compare a Kendall Wright to Alshon? maybe a full 6" difference in combine measurement, and HUGE speed difference. Teams that have a certain role to fill will value one and not the other. The Rams, for example, have to be DYING for a speed guy. That gives Wright, Jarius Wright, Markus Wheaton all extra value that other teams may not assign them.
3k - January 4, 2012
Truth.
Could use a Torrey Smith kind of guy, but I’d like a Blackmon too. Just never with the #2 pick, we could get so much more by trading down and I think Kalil is just the best value there, so one or the other on that.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
agreed on all fronts
and I noted a couple times last year that Torrey Smith made total sense if we didn’t want to keep Donnie Avery…and somehow the Rams found a way to avoid drafting speed and to cut Avery. An amazing double doozy.
3k - January 4, 2012
LOL.
I didn’t even realize he broke 800 yards until today. Impressive.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
did a much better job working inside the hash marks
than I thought he would. I really wanted Julio to top 1k though
3k - January 4, 2012
Oh damn, just missed it.
He had a nice second half surge.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
No fuckin' way.
Austin is a quick little dude hah. JUST inside both times! GTFO LOL.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
unbelievable
SOOOO lucky with those feet
3k - January 4, 2012
Whoa
the old frozen O-line trick!
3k - January 4, 2012
Good work by Hopkins to get that 1st down
jukes on jukes on jukes
3k - January 4, 2012
Tajh is starting to really look the part
of a legit prospect
3k - January 4, 2012
LOL NO FUCKING WAY! HAHAHAHAH
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
WTF?!?!?!
That might have been the smoothest strip of all time…
3k - January 4, 2012
Only one Tiger even saw it and began running right away. Damn that was awesome.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
douchie
see what I mean about McCartney being worked underneath? It’s too obvious. Clemson knows he’s working 4-8 every time. Austin, Bailey all over.
3k - January 4, 2012
Ahh,
I’ll pay attention to that on their next possession. He’s more like a quick slant catch can’t of guy?
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
kind of guy*
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
well that's what they use him as
and I’d like to see him work deeper, but there’s no need for them to change anything when your offense is working this well. Just as a prospect, I’d like to see him asked to do more
3k - January 4, 2012
Yeah true lol. 42 in one half,
don’t change anything.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
smartfootball said it well
3k - January 4, 2012
Damn, this is crazy.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
Mountaineers absolutely dominating.
They look legit today. Think they’ll be really good next year if Austin returns.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
with Holgorsen there
he’ll make sure they score at least 30 points per game average for the year. They did put up 21 on LSU…
3k - January 4, 2012
And over 500 yards.
They really did look somewhat impressive against LSU. It was actually a game for awhile too.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
oooooooh shit
Look at the Saints trollin the Lions…

3k - January 4, 2012
That is just awesome hahah.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
So I my prediction was
Clemson 51, WVU 47. Uhhhhhhh, no.
3k - January 4, 2012
Hahah.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
Jebus
35 points in one quarter……………unbelievable
3k - January 4, 2012
What a throw.
douchiedude - January 4, 2012
