And the winner of this year's Kevin Kolb Award is ...

Quarterback Sam Bradford was one reason the NFC West was supposed to belong to the St. Louis Rams in 2011. Obviously, things did not work out that way, for various reasons. Bradford's unofficial status as the division's best quarterback could be slipping. Following rumors of Peyton Manning's possible arrival in the division, Matt Flynn of the Packers could land here as well.

In an interview with ESPN in Milwaukee, Aaron Rodgers noted the possibility of Flynn landing in Seattle. The Seahawks general manager is John Schneider, who left the Packers to take his current gig. He also shares a name with the actor who played Bo Duke on television's love note to Nixon's vision of the South.

Is Flynn a better quarterback than Bradford? No. But, it certainly would make the division more competitive. Seattle finished 7-9 last season, and not in a flukey way similar to their 7-9 finish in 2010.

Many still see Miami as the likely destination for Flynn, Rodgers included, following their hire of Joe Philbin, the Packers former offensive coordinator.

Though it makes it tougher, it's good for the Rams and the other teams if the overall level of competition rises in the NFC West. It's about time.

Peyton is an aging HOFer and damaged goods.

You can’t blame Indy for not wanting to pay him $28M when they can get Luck and are going to have to rebuild anyway. I’m not so much concerned about new QB’s in the NFC West as I am with the fact that the Rams receiving corps is presently far inferior to our competition. We need a capable offensive line and some good receivers, besides Lloyd, or Sam is going to bust in STL. I figure Fisher and co. know that fact unlike the now defunct Spagnuolo administration.

Ive gotta give it to the Seahawks

they know how to mount a shitty bunch of QB’s

"Is Flynn a better quarterback than Bradford? No."

I prefer the wait and see. He’s put up better numbers than Bradford ever has in the NFL, he just has been stuck behind Rodgers. Maybe he is better than Bradford.

I think you're giving him a little bit too much credit

He had a great game against the Lions, no doubt. We’ve seen the same thing happen to other QB’s filling in on great teams though, and it hasnt panned out when they’ve become starters elsewhere. I’d welcome him to the NFC West

2 starts

thats all matt flynn has in the NFL. he also is playing in one of the best offenses in the league. so you really cant compare their numbers.

but i agree, lets wait and see before we go one way or another on that. matt cassell hasnt really panned out for KC and he did quite well filling in for a great offense in NE.

Kevin Kolb suffered the same affliction
Well he did put more tds than Sam in one game 6 tds than Sam had all year!
Helps to have some blocking and receiving, huh?

I hope no one here really thinks it’s Flynn that did that.

Hey rams fans, phin fan here

Would you agree to this trade?

Rams give: the no. 2 overall pick

Phins give: the no.9 overall pick, our 2nd rd pick, WR Brian Hartline, and our 2013 2nd rd pick

you mean Brandon Marshall, right?
umm, no

If you want Marshall, it will be our 1st, Marshall and next years 2nd

I probably agree to your 1st, Marshall and this years 2nd.
but I am not speaking for everyone else though.
Heck no

Add the 2013 first round pick as well then sure

Okay, then, how about this

Phins give: 9th overall pick, 2nd rd pick, WR Brian Hartline and next years 1st?

We'll throw in OT Marc Colombo as a sign of good will
Lol I doubt it

Your not fooling anybody by throwing in hartline and columbo. In order to get our pick your going to have to outbid alot of other teams and hartline just isn’t gonna do it

That's a shit deal
What's the pulse from Phins fans on RG3?

Is the consensus to trade up to our 2 spot?

Depends, most people either want RG3 or Manning

Flynn has a few supporters, but not many.Especially after the feeley fiasco. It’s pretty much 50/50 between trading up for RGIII, or getting Manning and either trading down for Tannehill, or taking a pass rushin DE

No not enough

we don’t need another slot WR, and at least need to get two first rounders out of it. How about this counter offer, Vontae Davis your 1st and next years’ second?

New Mock Draft

Just a heads up incase it hasn’t been noticed… SI has a mock draft up, where trade to the #4 and take Blackmon, and the OT from Ohio State at #22.

Sounds sufficient.

And I don’t think Peyton will be coming to this Division.
Dallas would be a good place for Peyton,
But, Jerry Jones is too stubburn to make that move.
Flynn definately could come here, to Sea or SF.
Kolb should keep Flynn out of Arizona.
Go Rams!

I think Dome teams will be on Manning's list of pros, so Seattle would satisfy that need...

…Flynn is being hyped based on 1 game against Detroit. If anyone pays him “Kolb money”, based on a single game… Whatever team that does needs a new GM

well Flynn was hyped before he even started

I heard some guys on the NFL network talking about how good he is, “he’s by far the best back-up, could be a starter on many teams” and stuff like that

and thats why he was drafted in the 7th round
I thought Seattle was open air?

The fans are covered but the field isn’t. Generally realities mild conditions though they do get plenty of rain and the occassional cold day.

Flynn seems like a player KC will throw some money at in hopes they can catch a rising star.

it is open air

and in December it is bloody cold there. They have that wet cold as opposed to dry cold, so it feels even colder; I froze my ass off at the game

Oops! I meant to say Indianapolis. I still think they may be a "Flynn suitor" if they decide to trade down
Seattle plays outside Doug
the level of competition did rise in the nfl west last yeAR---DIDN'T ANYONE NOTICE

our level just slipped abysmally

There he is.

Now fuck off.

jswirb has to be the most annoying person on this site.
I honestly agree with this

Every single team in the NFC West improved, except us. Even though Seattle has the same record, they had a tougher schedule than last year and were pretty banged up all year and still managed to put up 7 wins.

if ANYONE pays Flynn more than 5 mil a year

They deserve to be awful.

There is no way this dude should get a huge payday off of one game.

There was no way Cassel deserves a big deal and that was on an entire seasons’ worth of production.

If someone pays him like a Franchise QB when he clearly doesn’t have the tools and is already getting to an age where experience at the LOS is crucial (which he has none of) then that GM/HC need to be fired.

If no one has learnt from Cassel/Feeley/Kolb etc. Then my lord, the NFL top brass are dumber than my floorboards.
