The St. Louis Rams are still looking for a general manager. After hiring Jeff Fisher, offensive and defensive coordinators and a handful of assistants, the team now turns its attention back to the executive level. One candidate, Les Snead of the Falcons, will have a second interview with the team over the weekend, according to Ron Clements, and a new name may be on their radar.

Snead had an interview with the Rams on Jan. 10, prior to Jeff Fisher's decision to take the head coaching job. Fisher is involved in the GM search, so a second interview gives Fisher a chance to have his say on Snead. If the Rams hired Snead, it would be the second time in his career that he replaced Billy Devaney. Oh, the irony.
Clements also mentions that the team has pushed back an interview with Arizona Cardinals Director of Player Personnel Steve Keim. He'll interview with the team on Sunday. Keim is in Mobile at the Senior Bowl.
Another candidate that the Rams have interviewed is Lake Dawson from Tennessee. Dawson was promoted to Vice President of Player Personnel earlier this month. He has quietly taken himself out of the running since then.
Three other candidates are still on the radar for the Rams: Joey Clinkscales, VP of college scouting for the Jets; Brian Gaine, Miami's director of player personnel; and Tom Telesco, the Colts' director of player personnel.
Finally, Tony Softli says that Mike Ackerley, current a scout with the Houston Texans. Ackerley was a 10-year veteran with the Titans until he left in June 2010. He did a stint with the Rams during his 20-year career. Obviously he has some ties to Jeff Fisher.

Every time I hear "Snead" I think of Jevan Snead
and the ultra-disappointing turn his career made. Went from a potential 1st round pick to an undrafted practice squader. But that’s neither here nor there.
I’m still holding out hope for Lake “Creek” Dawson.

haha! same here!
On my online franchise on madden Sam went down for the season in week 6 or so and Snead was my backup, took me to the Superbowl! Will always hope he makes it purely for that haha

The new GM for the Rams will have
as much “juice” as players on the taxi squad. Talk about an irrelevant hire!
