Rams Considering Ray Sherman For Assistant Coaching Position

The St. Louis Rams continue to hire their coaching staff. The head coach and his coordinators are in place, and the work is now focused on filling out the rest of the assistant vacancies. Former Dallas Cowboys receivers coach Ray Sherman is now said to be one possibility for the Rams' staff, according to a Thursday report.

Sherman coached with Fisher in Tennessee for two seasons, 2005 and 2006. He joined the Cowboys in 2007, and worked their until 2010.

Earlier in the week, there were reports that the Rams were considering franchise great Henry Ellard, the Jets' receivers coach, to coach receivers in St. Louis. James Lofton was also mentioned as a possibility.

Sherman has a lengthy resume of coaching experience, especially on the offensive side of the ball. He was the offensive coordinator for the Jets in 1994, the Steelers in 1998 and the Vikings in 1999. He's also been a running backs coach.

His experience level fits with Fisher's other hires among assistants thus far. In fact, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Sherman being considered as an offensive senior assistant rather than a position coach, similar to the hire of Dave McGinnis for the defense.

This is a different beast about Coaching Staffs.

When you hire a new Co-ordinator it seems like begging people to come to your staff. With Fisher people are actually waiting to see if they will be chosen. When Fisher said he was going to take his time with a staff he was not lying. Not only are the Rams getting the pick of the litter we are holding everyone else up. Who would of thunk? LOL

Couldnt of said it better myself!

Also why arent they checking on Bruce and Holt for WR coach

Fish probably wants an experienced coach.

If he went for them he might bring them in as consultants or something lesser then promote them if they are good in the role.

Maybe....

As an Offensive assistance.

Where is our new QB coach?

That is one of the biggest needs for us

patience grasshopper
My guy would be

Mike White

I don't know enough about him. Tell me why you want him?
Mike White

20 years college coach National Coach of the Year 1975
9 years NFL Coach 1997 – 1999 with the Rams

Haha im sure the qb coach will come
Hiring

Hiring the local dog catcher would be an improvement over last year offensives coaches.

He could probably catch better

than what we had last year

Only thing better than Looney getting fired is if

the Patriots take him also!!!!
