The St. Louis Rams have agreed to a contract with their new head coach, Jeff Fisher. Adam Schefter reported on Monday evening that the Rams and Fisher agreed to a five year deal. Fisher will sign the deal on Tuesday.
Terms, Tuesday's press conference and more after the jump.

Terms of Fisher's deal with the Rams are unknown at this time. He was expected to earn a handsome salary that would make him one of the highest paid coaches in the league. He was slated to make $6.5 million with the Titans in 2011, before he and the team decided to part ways after the 2010 season. Fisher's deal with the Rams would almost certainly have that figure as a floor, and it's likely to be closer to $7 million per season. The Dolphins were rumored to be willing to pay Fisher $8 million per season.
Fisher will be introduced at a 1:00 p.m. press conference at the team facility tomorrow. The event will be available via streaming video, and we'll have complete coverage here at TST.

It's unknown whether or not Fisher will introduce any members of his coaching staff on Tuesday. Both Gregg Williams and Brian Schottenheimer have agreed to be Fisher's defensive and offensive coordinators, respectively, it's unknown whether or not they have both agreed to contracts.

Fisher's introduction as the Rams new head coach comes barely two weeks after the team fired Steve Spagnuolo and Billy Devaney. Owner Stan Kroenke interviewed Fisher on Jan. 4 and 5 in Denver, and he visited Rams Park on Jan. 8. A week of deliberation followed, in which his whim was filtered up from Twitter to the nightly news. Fisher let Kroenke know on Thursday, Jan. 12, that he would take the job with the Rams, and news of his decision broke Friday afternoon, leaked out of the Dolphins organization after he let them know his decision.

... For what?
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
OC
Starkey - January 16, 2012
For us?
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
yes
Mort just said on Twitter…
RAMSALLTHEWAY - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Yep, he will interview Wednesday
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Would love this
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Way better choice than Shotty
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Yeah.
Give me Hue.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
He's actually a good OC
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Yeah.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
This is good
Cause at least now if we pick Shotty, it means Fish feels really good about him, and didn’t just hire him after a day
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
and for his name.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
Yeah, Hue would fit better with Fisher as well
From a philosophy standpoint as far as liking to run, while still not being Shurmurr in the passing game
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Agreed.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
Sounds good other then the fact that......
We have a nearly 30 RB who has been the workhorse of this team for 6+ yrs already and is now solely running on his knees after wearing down his legs…..And with no successor or even a decent spell guy on the roster we are pretty much screwed.
SMASH44 - January 16, 2012
How bout we, as I've said before:
Do two trade downs, take Upshaw, Worthy, and Lamar Miller in the first two rounds and get Stephen Hill in the 3rd. Also, Michael Bush is a FA
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Hey KSR do you want Upshaw?
dbcouver - January 16, 2012
Haha, sorry, but I just love the guy
And I was posting that one more to say we could get Lamar Miller
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
LOL
just wanted to make sure
dbcouver - January 16, 2012
Finally we will have success and stability.
I don’t think that he will instantly transform our team, but things look better than they have in a long time.
loyal2therams - January 16, 2012
Yeah...Hue is interviewing wednesday
RAMSALLTHEWAY - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Ok, so we have:
Coach Fisher and Williams
We could get: Jackson or Shotty and Washburn
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Jackson and Washburn please.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
I know he will most likely just go back to retirement
But if we get Washburn and Castillo goes back to coaching the o-line in Philly, Washburn needs to try and bring Howard Mudd with him
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Mudd has health problems from what I've heard.
So he might retire for good soon.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
I know, which is sad cause from what I hear his players love him
And he was definetly great, but even if we could get him for only a year, he’d do wonders for the o-line
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
No doubt.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
Mudd has a clause that he can leave
Maybe Washburn convinces him to come to St Louis?
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Washburn is the one most likely
Fisher puts together the key pieces of his 99 defense on the coaching staff with Williams and Washburn. The thought of Washburn coaching Long and Quinn makes me need to change my pants. And cue the bad Rampage joke
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
No joke.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
Cause Quinn and Long being Wasburn's padawans isnt something to joke about
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
I'm not quite sure what to make a joke about.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
Some feel that the Eagles are gonna not even be interested in continuing the wide-9 cause if Spags goes there
And Washburn might already want to come to the Lou. Also, he and Mudd are friends, so maybe he could bring him with him
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
I would be fine with this.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
If cutting Spags gets us Washburn as well as Fisher and Williams and maybe Hue
Id be a happy man, loving the irony
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Same here.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
I thought we were pretty much set on Shotty? by pretty much I meant, he's in. I'm fine with Hue, mainly because he won't leave after 1 season if it's a good one
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
Maybe things are turning sour with Shotty?
Maybe it was overblown? Maybe Fisher realized Hue is a better fit here?
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
well it'll get Jets fans off our nuts
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
Yeah, and I think Raiders fans would agree that Hue can coach offense
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
I think so too
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
Just win, baby!
Joe Mazzi - January 16, 2012 via mobile
If Jeff gets Gregg Williams and Hue Jackson
I will love him forever
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
no homo right?
RAMSALLTHEWAY - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Depends how it works out
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Lmao
Ram_Redemption - January 16, 2012 via mobile
If he gets Washburn I'll shampoo his mustache
If he gets Mudd somehow, I’d do anything the guy freaking wants
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Hue Jackson runs the West Coast offense correct?
anyone have anymore insight on his system and/or philosophy?
Wombat x - January 16, 2012
He believes in a power running game and a vertical passing game
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Sorry, thats all I could find that quick
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
I still love your screen name
btw, don’t know much about Hue and his offense.
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
haha thanks
Wombat x - January 16, 2012
Wombat....
awesome.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
Wheres Van? I need a Hue Jackson article
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
idk he's been absent in the second half of the day.
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
Can you hop over to the Oakland blog and ask anyone there about Hue's offensive philosophy?
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
i'm not a member i don't think so i'd have to wait like 24 hours
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
I hate that
Joe Mazzi - January 16, 2012 via mobile
i don't
cause as soon as it was in place the spammers went away. it was way annoying before that
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
Someone get Doug or 3k or Van awake
Someone needs to go investigate
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Hue Jackson
Was Flacco’s QB coach the last two years. How about bringing over Ben Grubbs?
Joe Mazzi - January 16, 2012 via mobile
oh gross. He went from QB coach to coaching the Raiders?
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
TOM CABLE anyone?!
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
As o-line coach
Although him and Hue would be awkward
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
just OC
if it’s true that Hue went form QB coach to just coach with no OC experience
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
OC Raiders 2010.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
oh got it
sergey606 - January 16, 2012
So we have Jeff and Williams
Hue Jackson is the hot name to be coordinator now IMO, and Washburn seems like it might be happening. The out lying “if all these guys including this guy come here I’ll be in heaven” is old Howard Mudd (who likes old Kanobi IMO). If ALL of these guys (Washburn, Jackson, and then Mudd in order of my opinion of likelihood) were to come here, this is a great coaching staff
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Hue Jackson was also OC for the skins in 03 and Bengals in 07 and was OC for plenty of college teams.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
He was Palmer's college OC
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Coached Flacco to become QB to win 2 playoffs game in his rookie season.
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
Coached Flacco during what were probably his best years
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Should be "to become the first QB"
RAMpage28 - January 16, 2012
Sounds good.
Joe Mazzi - January 16, 2012 via mobile
God I fukn life what fisher is doing
Ram_Redemption - January 16, 2012 via mobile
You "life" it
Like you like it more than your life? That’s extreme
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Fukn swype lol
And for what its worth, flacco had been shit since jackson left. Wonder if this is a leverage move tho
Ram_Redemption - January 16, 2012 via mobile
They've been in touch
Would imply it isn’t. A leverage move would be to start talking to a guy out of the blue
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
yea I didn't see that part before
Dam I love this coaching staff
Ram_Redemption - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Especially if Washburn and (this is me being hopeful and optimistic) Howard Mudd are in play
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
I bet over the phone interviews are funny
Fisher:“hey..this hue? Hey.its jeff..from the tita errr ummm dolphi iiii mean rams. Yea hey … You working for anyone yet?”
Ram_Redemption - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Hue and Jeff have been in touch by phone
Meaning this isn’t all of a sudden, just been handled more suddlely
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
HUE FOR OC PLEASE!!!!!!!
Rickrock - January 16, 2012
Someone should be writing a piece on Hue i hope. My favorite thus far
Rickrock - January 16, 2012
Yeah, someone tell Infemous to take his head out of the oven
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Where are our TST writers!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RAMSALLTHEWAY - January 16, 2012 via mobile
It's only like 8:40 in their time zone right?
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
7:40
RAMSALLTHEWAY - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Wtf? Where da fck are they?
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Wasn't it reported...
That Shotty was hired for OC? Can someone please clarify.
victorian - January 16, 2012
It's called "michael Lombardi shouldnt report"
It sounds like Fisher might be souring on him
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Thanks...
KS. Much appreciated.
victorian - January 16, 2012
Yeah, Lombardi said he was hired
Schefty said he was expected to be hired, but it seems like things might be going south for Shotty as far as Fisher’s opinion of him
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Pity hire?
Could it be “said” Rams were hiring Shotty so that we could “convince” a guy like Jackson to come over and “rescue” us??? :P
Silver Paladin - January 16, 2012
As long as hues the new OC
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
They finally got an article up
King Sam Rules! - January 16, 2012 via mobile
