Yup, I know what you're thinking, and I'm tired of all the Jeff Fisher information too. This should be coming to an end on Friday. However, if everything from this interview Adam Schefter had with Sid Rosenberg, a Miami sports radio jock, is true, it will help you understand this long and boring process.
I'm not going to quote everything, from this 24 minute interview, but I will try to hit the main points.
Adam says:
There is no decision, because Jeff wants to make sure, that the situation is exactly how he wants it. The trainers, budgets, the payroll, but this should be over in 24 hours.
That's interesting, he wants a lot, but why hasn't a contract been offered?
Adam then said:
Nobody made an offer, because no one has to make an offer, because if you're Jeff Fisher, you can call "the Dolphins owner" and say I wanna coach Miami, how hard will it be to get a contract done. He then goes to say the money part is the easiest thing to get done.
More after the jump.

Most surprising thing, is that Adam got mad, when Sid kept talking about the money. and how much Fisher would make. Adam got mad and said " it has nothing to do with money"
Adam said
Fisher wants to sit down and think about everything. It's not all about the money and the quarterback.
Adam said
he would still give a slight advantage to the Miami Dolphins.
It seems like Jeff Fisher wants more power than the Rams old head coach had. He wants to make sure he can control the 53 man roster. And be able to fire who he wants to fire.
Adam also said
that Fisher already has his staff in place.
That is interesting, because if the Rams were to get another rookie coach, they would also get rookie coordinators.
Adam said:
Most likely if Fisher gets hired in St. Louis, he will hire his own GM.
That isn't a big shocker.
After that interview, I wouldn't count the Rams out of the sweepstakes, but after what happened last time the Rams gave a head coach all this power, I hope that they look at the other potential head coaches, before they agree to Jeff Fisher if he calls.
If you want to listen to the whole interview, here you go: http://wqam.com/index.php?page=740

Lol, another 24hrs????
I thought everyone said it would be decided by today?? I’m just messing, I know it is a long process and he wants to weigh all of his options before decided but I do feel like he is stringing one team along, whether it be the Dolphins or the Rams. Whoever losses out on the Fisher sweepstakes should be alittle pissed with the way he handled the whole situation.

hmmmmm........
Giving a mediocre former HC so much power is just not right. take away the music city miracle and this wouldnt even be a debate right now. He doesnt deserve nor should he be demanding such power from 17 years of mediocrity.
Fisher can go to the fins for all i care, hes not worth giving such power up to him.
Tampa_Ram - January 12, 2012
I am right there with you.
I absolutely do not understand why so many people are dead set on Fisher, and why they’re acting like Kroenke is crazy for not offering him $7mil / year (if that story had any truth to it).
Just because someone is experienced does not mean they are good. “Take oldest HC available” doesn’t seem like a winning strategy to me. If he wants VP power, or a Belichick status & money, or anything that far beyond what he actually is, then let him walk.
JStymie - January 12, 2012
Bad head coaches don't keep jobs for 10+ years
Except in San Diego…
x Nightwing x - January 12, 2012 via mobile
Hes an above average head coach
But this is something only Lombardi should get away with.
King Sam Rules! - January 12, 2012 via mobile
agree
hes asking way to much for doing oh so little.
Tampa_Ram - January 12, 2012
so what did he do that was good?
he had the music city miracle and what? 4 other season of making the playoffs over 17 years? yea……5 playoffs in 17 years is not what i consider good.
Tampa_Ram - January 12, 2012
He coached in a division with the Colts, and at best had average to below-average qbs.
He’s a very good coach, don’t let the stats fool you. He’d be soo much better than what we’ve had.

Nicely done.

4 weeks later
I’ve decided to coach the lakers.
Ram_Redemption - January 12, 2012 via mobile
Also, I'm getting tired of seeing that Lions training camp photo...can we use this instead?
addnon - January 12, 2012
Ew..
That doesn’t look right. Maybe this is for the best after all.
Joe Mazzi - January 12, 2012
It's either the Lions training camp picture or a picture of him pissing.
The choice is yours.
RAMpage28 - January 12, 2012
This is getting ridiculous
THE SAME THING WAS SAID 24 HOURS AGO!
WHEN WILL IT END!?
At this point, I don’t even care anymore. Get us a decent coach and I’ll be fine.

Just don't get mad at Fisher for these deadlines, he's not the one making them up...
x Nightwing x - January 12, 2012 via mobile
You know how he could end them all?
Make a FUCKIN decision!
King Sam Rules! - January 12, 2012 via mobile
If I'm the rams I back out and make him accept the dolphins
Have fun with the patriots and jets twice a year
Ram_Redemption - January 12, 2012 via mobile
lol yea
Danteslion - January 12, 2012
I'd be more worried about Buffalo
….unless the Jets sack up and get rid of Sanchize
DCRamFan - January 12, 2012
apparently some of the Jets players think they have a shot at Peyton Manning....
if that is the case Fisher would be stuck playing Peyton again twice a year. Lmao, if he chooses the Dolphins and Manning winds up going to NY I would be smiling from ear to ear.
jpcisco - January 12, 2012
Sanchez is hands down the reason the Jets don't win

Tampa_Ram - January 12, 2012
I have a bad feeling, he's coaching the Dolphins.
Please take fisher Kroenke.
Will pay his salary for you.
At the end of the day, he’s still brings stability and assistants will flock to him. Greg williams. And co’.
He did well with Mcnair,VY, Johnson and White.
Stats407 - January 12, 2012 via mobile
If you pay Cortland Finnegan to join him here, as well
We accept you offer
Joe Mazzi - January 12, 2012
I just read that the reason the Dolphins are the favorties according the Schefter is because...
the Rams are not going to let Fisher choose his own GM? I thought that was the Rams big selling point?
Schefter still considers Miami a “slight favorite,” though that could change if the Rams give in and allow him to hire his own GM. A decision is tentatively expected on Friday.
jpcisco - January 12, 2012
I'm fine with letting Fisher HELP choose the next GM
Because they are the ones going to bat with each other, to live or die by each other; however, I’m not cool with Fisher’s opinion being God’s will and final.
Joe Mazzi - January 12, 2012
Yea, atleast in St. Louis Fisher will have a say in who they hire, in Miami he is stuck with who is already in place...
jpcisco - January 12, 2012
We're hearing from some of the Dolphins reporters
that Fisher actually likes Miami’s GM and would not have a problem working with him. Speculation is that Fisher wants some of the same job security guarantees in his contract that Jeff Ireland (our GM) has. But again, that’s just speculation.
Chupathingy - January 12, 2012
He wants to really govern what team he goes to next
This could turn out good or very bad for us, either way. Very difficult decision for K to make regarding the amount of power. I think I’d give it to him, but still hire a VP of Football Operations. That might be a sticking point, who knows.
RamsFan1979 - January 12, 2012
Be honest
You called kroenke "k"cause you couldn’t spell his name didn’t you
Ram_Redemption - January 12, 2012 via mobile
lol, no it's just quicker...
RamsFan1979 - January 12, 2012
K-stash could be his code name
ramdude - January 12, 2012
K is still quicker. How about The K, King, Kronk...
RamsFan1979 - January 14, 2012
There always has to be someone to check the coaches power.
Look at Belichick even, ever since he’s become basically the only guy in control of personnel the talent level has gone way down. On defense especially.
x Nightwing x - January 12, 2012 via mobile
some draft talk
Mel Kiper has Michael Brocker as the #1 DT in the nation….he played for LSU by the way

Rammon105 - January 12, 2012
Billick
85-67 career record. 5-3 playoff record. He’d probably have plenty of demands also but he is a winner.
Mister T - January 12, 2012
I would like Billick as a coach.
GET T’D!
RAMpage28 - January 12, 2012
THIS IS ME, T
How bout my son E?
I pity da foo dat don’t hire him.
ramdude - January 12, 2012
Billick was very good OC for Minni they had one of the best offenses of all time braking all kinds of records at that time
he would be good for Sam too But Jeff will be a Ram by tomorrow lol
Rammon105 - January 12, 2012
No.
They had one of the best offenses of all time because of Cris Carter, Randy Moss, Culpepper’s arm and Robert Smith’s legs. Billick, in my opinion, had very little to do with it. Moss and Carter were absolutely sick that season.
FailureDrill - January 12, 2012 via Android app
Please DO NOT compliment Cris Carter.......ever
Where’s the ‘h’ in Chris, you arrogant bastard? Plus, you’re a dick who thinks you’re better than you actually were
DCRamFan - January 12, 2012
some one has to call the plays and that was Billick he did a great job
Rammon105 - January 12, 2012
Billick sucked as a coach tho
Ram_Redemption - January 12, 2012 via mobile
Lol, really?
He won the Ravens a Super Bowl, how does that justify sucking?
jpcisco - January 12, 2012
The longer this shit drags on, the more likely Miami gets Fisher
I would’ve never believed Fisher would’ve been such a hot commodity. Now I believe I’d rather have Brian Billick. But we’ll probably end up with another jackleg coordinator with no NFL head coaching experience. Martz (6 yrs), Linehan (2 1/4 yrs), Spagnuolo (3 yrs), ___________? “Like sand through the hour glass, so are the days of Ram fan’s lives.”
JHaier - January 12, 2012

ramdude - January 12, 2012
Schefter was saying that people close to Fisher
Stated that his decision will not be made based on money. They said that he has made a lot of money with the Oilers and Titans. He is more concerned about landing in the right spot to succeed.
CaliRamMan - January 12, 2012
Well, the Patriots are bound to be bad AT SOME POINT

I'm gonna laugh
when both Miami and STL hire other head coaches and Fisher is left there just looking around.
thisguy - January 12, 2012
If we just could.
The situation is in his favor much more than he deserves.
ramdude - January 12, 2012
Fisher is not mediocre!
6 (or is it 8?) winning seasons in 16 years including a franchise relocation is not a mediocre record. When you look at our record since the relocation from l.a.—6 winning seasons is not so bad. 2000-2004 was a nice run, but we were very lucky to have Warner waiting in the wings. We may have been unlucky with Trent Green’s injury but we came out of a bucket of you know what smelling like a rose because of the Warner phenomenon. Fisher’s not perfect, but he’s not mediocre. My only real concern is that he is a little weak right where the Rams are weak—the draft. ugh!
JD70-79 - January 12, 2012
Key is what's left in the tank and how will he mesh with the organization and team
Looks like he’s got some miles on him, but the time off and change of venue might be just what he needs.
ramdude - January 12, 2012
I like Billick better!
Fisher is good, but I’m kind of in a mood to have an offense minded guy. I think a guy like Billick would REALLY appreciate working in the NFC West. That AFC Central just kills the teams.
JD70-79 - January 12, 2012
Or the AFC North.

Why vote in the presidential race when our vote doesn't count?
It’s the electoral votes that put the POTUS in office. Baby bush lost the popular vote, but won the electoral vote = plurality of votes means nothing.

Like I said, whoever we get as HC, we will still suck for a while. That is if the new HC can whip the franchise into shape. I don’t care who we get. But I would like a HC that doesn’t take bullshit from players. Instead of a pat on the back. "Go job Johnny. You tried. ". Bullshit. Remember when singletary sent davis to the showers? You member. The players respected him. He just sucked as a HC.
