Random Ramsdom, 1/10: Waiting For Fisher

Jeff Fisher is still picking his next coaching destination. The St. Louis Rams and Miami Dolphins are both proceeding with backup plan should they be the ones jilted.

9:10 Am EST - Update by VT: John Clayton just reported on Mike and Mike in the Morning that Jeff Fisher is likely to select the Rams even though Miami will be throwing the checkbook at him. This is mostly because of the situation in St. Louis (Bradford, draft, power etc). He also stated Miami is in serious backup plan mode right now, compared to the Rams. I would also like to report that Jeff Fisher is likely to eat and use the restroom multiple times today. Just sayin'.

A heaping helping of news for you...

Deadline looms on plan for Dome improvements - Three weeks. In the three weeks, Feb. 1, the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission has to present a plan to the Rams for improvements to the Dome, to get it in line with that vague "top tier" clause. The Rams can counter offer, due by May 1, and the two sides can then go to arbitration, which can go through the end of the year.

Rams interview first GM candidate - Just to underscore how much faster stuff moves on the internet new cycle than reality, the Rams interviewed Eagles Director of Player Personnel Ryan Grigson on Monday, the first GM candidate they have interviewed. They have eight GM candidates they are known to be interested in for the vacancy.

Why Jeff Fisher Should Choose The Rams (And Vice Versa) - Will at Rams Herd make the case for why the Rams are a better landing spot for Jeff Fisher.

Robert Quinn is being sued - St. Louis Rams rookie Robert Quinn is being sued by his former agent, Carl Carey, who claims that he's owed his fee of Quinn's first round contract. Carey says that Quinn fired him before signing a deal, after he boosted his draft stock to what it was.

Browns could trade down in 2012 NFL Draft - Wait, it's not supposed to happen this way. The Browns are supposed to trade up. Don't get your panties in a bunch, it's all talk at this point, but don't be surprised is Cleveland does not want to trade with the Rams for the right to draft RG3.

Alabama Leaves No Doubt: LSU Mauled In BCS Championship, 21-0 - Did you see it? The BCS Championship was a game for the ages, worth the wait. Alabama linebacker Courtney Upshaw won the MVP award, along with quarterback A.J. McCarron. Upshaw will probably be making his money in a 3-4, but he could be stud linebacker on the weakside in the 4-3 ... a long way from the days of the Rams trying to cheap out on the linebackers. He's a first round pick.

I know I said it yesterday

but I went the Browns site yesterday, Dawgs by Nature, and hopped on a thread about how they DON’T want Trent Richardson, which was basically all draft talk. I didnt see mention of trading down, and I didn’t see a whole lot about RG3. They were somewhat taking the ’we’ll take the best of whats available at 4’ approach.

I did inquire about trading up to our two spot, but the thought of giving us what we want (their 4th and 22nd) almost got me a cyber punch in the face. So no, they don’t want to trade away their firsts for RG3….at least their fans do not. Let’s hope their FO is another story

But that is not the question. Why are we here, that is the question.

And we are blessed in this, that we happen to know the answer. Yes, in this immense confusion one thing alone is clear. We are waiting for Fisher to come.

In my head,

that post was spoken by the voice of James Earl Jones.

You don’t live near Dyersville, by chance?

Dream Draft Scenario

We trade down with Cleveland getting their 2 first round picks and their 2nd round pick. Trade back down to 7 or 8(or lower?) and get(extra picks) Floyde and then Alshon falls to our 2nd pick in the first and grab him. Lamar Miller with the 1st pick in 2nd round and DT/OLB with Clevelands 2nd round pick via trade. Add LaMicheal James(depth/SJ gettin older) in the 3rd or 4th. Then DT, OLB and o-line depth the rest of the way(bpa). Get the best o-tackle available through free agency and move Smith to LG(new coaching staff could make a big difference with o-line). That’s 4 offensive playmakers, run defence, and solidify our o-line in an offseason. Anyone think(hope) this could happen? Thoughts and comments welcome. Superbowl! Go Rams!

Even weirder news for us

Rg3 might be returning to school

yea i saw that..

if that happens and we cant find any trade partners then its Kalil or Blackmon.

Really banking on a trade down however.

Can't imagine why he would do that? Who's he listening to?

He let Baylor to their best season ever, won the Heisman, and is a projected top 10 pick. I know Baylor is a nice school, but I’ve also been to Waco and know staying there isn’t the reason. Got to wonder if he’s having doubts in his abilities, or doesn’t care for any of the teams that are likely to draft him.

Look at Luck

He would have been ahead of Bradford, and that was basically the last year the #1 pick got megarich

Signed

"A Game for the Ages"?

You know you’re too used to Rams football when a game like that can be called a Game for the Ages.

And how about that electrifying half-time field goal kicking contest?

As if there weren’t enough field goals during the game!

It was a game for the ages;

The Dark Ages.

Ther is no way he stays! His stock is at an all time high
