Hear that? It's the distinct Stuka-like wailing siren of draft stock falling. Happens every spring. This time, the high profile prospect taking a fall is Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant.
Bryant has again moved his pro day, private workout really, for the third time, from March 10 to March 25 and now settling on March 30.
That news comes on the heels of whispers we reported yesterday about Bryant's draft stock falling amidst concerns among NFL coaches and front office guys that he's a big risk. If that pushed Bryant into the second round, would it be worth the St. Louis Rams taking a flyer on him with their 33rd pick? I just don't that happening. Bryant's too good of a player, even with questions, to fall outside of the first round.
Bryant can halt the fall of his draft status on March 30, so stay tuned.

I still think if Gresham falls to 33, he'd be a better fit
as an elite Tight End. We already have a young, high pick going through the maturation process at WR. Need a TE more.
If Gresham is gone, I guess it’s no longer a consideration because I don’t know if there are any TE’s I’d spend that high a pick on.

BPA draft
This is the BPA draft for the Rams. If Spags doesn’t think Bryant can change his attitude to fit the 4 pillars culture, then why draft him? Another issue is he may have the same attitude as Crabtree and may want 1st round pay, and could sit out the entire season. He is not the BPA at this point.
I really like Everson Griffen or Best if they last until the 2nd. If best is still available, we may in fact see a trade happen.

I think Best is a good bet to be there at the Rams 33.
What trade do you foresee?

Trades:
Many “experts” believe this draft to be one of the best and deepest. If other GMs are so in love with this draft as well, the #1 pick in the 2nd round could be worth a lot based on teams’ needs.
For instance, Denver or Philly may want Best since they just traded Hillis and cut Westbrook, respectively. I imagine either team would trade spots and give up either A. QB (McNabb or Orton they probably wouldn’t trade spots) or B. Their 4th and 5th round picks (not looking at a trade chart right now).

Trades????
Weird crud this FA period. The draft being “new” this year will also offer “new” surprises.
All in all, having the top picks in each round is actually very good this draft year. Can’t wait.

Contest - a mock draft without a qb as the #1 overall selection for Rams (no trade-downs)
So, obviously impact needs are more dire nearer the top of the draft order and selections. See what ya’ all think.
#1. Okung, McCoy, Berry, Suh
#2. DE, DT (T. Cody), OLB, WR
#3. DE, OLB, WR, RB
#4. CB, DB, OLB
#5. OG
#5. RB
jlcdb70 - March 16, 2010
message context changed??
#6. DB
#7. OT
#7. CB

i would love
To even trade up if he fell into the 20s he will not be there at 33
