- Great read on Adam Carriker's rehabilitation progress from shoulder surgery here from the Tri-City Herald (Washington). Here's something you want to hear:
"Everything is on schedule," Carriker said. "I'm about 80 percent and should be 100 percent by the first game (Sept. 7 at Philadelphia). I just can't wait to get back on the field."
Good, good, and good. Adam, you get today's official 3k stamp of approval:
- New story from the St. Louis Dispatch here with this unbelievable statement:
There are at least eight players who must be elite — or close to it — for the club to succeed this fall.
At least eight? We have to have at least eight players to play at an elite level for team success? Good god. Assuming that "elite" = a Pro Bowl berth, I know at least one team who had eight Pro Bowlers last year: the 16-0 New England Patriots. So for team success, you have to have eight Pro Bowlers. Just in case you're wondering who these have-to-be-elite-for-any-success-whatsoever-players are...Marc Bulger, Orlando Pace, Steven Jackson, Leonard Little, Chris Long, Drew Bennett, Josh Brown, and Pisa Tinoisamoa. Ridiculous article, but worth reading if you have time. I would give this the opposite of the stamp of approval, but I don't really know what that would look like. Maybe something like this:
- Mike Sando, ESPN's NFC West blogger, drops a piece on Claude "Dear God" Wroten here. Coach Linehan plays down his role and doesn't really give much hope to those of you who were hoping for the Rams to pick someone off the wire. So to lift your spirits, here is a drunk baby:
And thus ends this random Ramsdom.

all that talk about
how much work Wroten put in during the offseason. only to find out he was at Rams HQ by order, just to keep him out of trouble.
i doubt we’ll miss him that much, but to think if he had lived up to his potential this season, at least 75% of it, the Rams could have had one helluva D-line. now, it should be fine, but there’s less margin for error
